APPOINTMENTS OF CHAIR TO POWYS TEACHING HEALTH BOARDS

Local Health Boards are responsible for planning, designing, developing and securing the delivery of primary, community, in-hospital care services and - where appropriate - specialised services for the citizens in their respective areas to meet identified local needs within the national policy and standards framework set out by the Minister for Health and Social Services.

These appointments are an opportunity to help shape the future direction of the Health Boards and contribute to the delivery of safe services. Why not utilise your skills and experience to make a contribution to the Health Service in Wales.

The Chairs will be accountable to the Minister for Health and Social Services for the performance of the Board and its effective governance, for upholding the values of the NHS, and for promoting the confidence of the staff, patients and communities across Wales on behalf of the Board. The Chairs also have a responsibility to ensure that the Health Boards continue to deliver against national objectives set by the Welsh Government.

The Chairs will be appointed for up to 4 years and the posts are based on a notional time commitment of a minimum of 15 days per month, but this will be subject to organisational demands. The Chair of Powys Teaching HB will be eligible to receive a remuneration which equates to £43,326 per annum.
