As a member of the University's senior team, this role will lead the OU in Wales to reach even more students across the country, including those from priority groups and communities as identified by HEFCW and Welsh Government. The role holder will also:

  • Lead the development and delivery of the OU's strategy in Wales in line with its corporate strategy, ‘Students First: strategy for growth'.
  • Assume the role of the OU's ambassador and figurehead in Wales, building effective, long term and trusting relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead, inspire and motivate the OU team in Wales, ensuring activities are representative of, and relevant to, Welsh students and closely aligned to the devolved and diverging educational landscape in Wales.
  • Support the OU's wider transformation programme to create a more resilient and flexible organisation that attracts and nurtures talent and is well placed for the future.

Candidates will have a first degree or equivalent and a proven track record of operating in a relevant, senior leadership role within or outside of Wales. You will have led significant external stakeholder engagement, organisational change and improvements, and have an understanding of and strong empathy for Wales.

Y Brifysgol Agored yw sefydliad academaidd mwyaf y DU ac mae'n arweinydd byd o ran dysgu hyblyg o bell. Yn sefydliad cynhwysol, arloesol ac ymatebol, mae'r Brifysgol Agored yn helpu 170,000 o fyfyrwyr ledled y byd bob blwyddyn i gyflawni'u nodau, ac mae ganddi gymuned ymchwil fywiog. Mae'r sefydliad wedi ymroi i raglen o drawsnewid uchelgeisiol a thwf, cyrraedd dysgwyr newydd drwy lwyfannau digidol gwell a chynyddu gwerth eiddo deallusol a chynnwys i'r eithaf mewn meysydd yn cynnwys dadansoddeg dysgu a chyrsiau crynswth ar-lein. Fel aelod o uwch dîm y Brifysgol, bydd y rôl hon yn arwain y Brifysgol Agored yng Nghymru i gyrraedd hyd yn oed mwy o fyfyrwyr ledled y wlad, gan gynnwys y rheiny o grwpiau a chymunedau blaenoriaeth fel y'u nodwyd gan CCAUC a Llywodraeth Cymru. Bydd deiliad y rôl hefyd yn:

  • Arwain datblygu a chyflawni strategaeth y Brifysgol Agored yng Nghymru yn unol â'i strategaeth gorfforaethol, ‘Myfyrwyr yn Gyntaf: strategaeth ar gyfer twf'.
  • Ymgymryd â rôl llysgennad ac wyneb amlwg y Brifysgol Agored yng Nghymru, gan feithrin perthnasoedd effeithiol, hirdymor ac ymddiriedus gyda rhanddeiliaid allanol a mewnol.
  • Arwain, ysbrydoli a chymell tîm y Brifysgol Agored yng Nghymru, gan sicrhau bod gweithgareddau yn gynrychioliadol o, ac yn berthnasol i, fyfyrwyr Cymru ac yn gydnaws iawn â'r dirwedd addysgol ddatganoledig a dargyfeiriol yng Nghymru.
  • Cefnogi rhaglen drawsnewid ehangach y Brifysgol Agored er mwyn creu sefydliad mwy cydnerth a hyblyg sy'n denu ac yn meithrin dawn, sydd mewn sefyllfa dda i'r dyfodol.
