Coleg Cambria is one of the UK's largest colleges employing more than 1450 staff in over five campuses, all conveniently located in North East Wales, offering easy accessibility from within North Wales, Shropshire, Wirral, Merseyside and Cheshire.

The Lecturer in Hospitality and Catering will join our Deeside and Yale campus on a casual, hourly paid basis and carry out scheduled teaching and exam invigilation, prepare learning materials, mark students' work and liaise with awarding bodies as required.

You will act as a personal tutor and provide educational guidance, support and counselling for students and liaise with tutors from other areas of the college to plan resources, develop the curriculum and monitor student progress.

You will need to complete and produce documentation such as registers, schemes of work, records of work, course review, course analysis documentation and student reports. You will assist with marketing, planning, assessment and evaluation of course provision and be involved in the recruitment and interviewing of students when required.

You will be qualified to Degree Level (or equivalent Level 4 qualification) in Hospitality and Catering and hold a teaching qualification such as Cert Ed, PGCE or City & Guilds 7407. With an awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching, you will have knowledge of a broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment and demonstrate and understanding of current developments within your own specialist area.

Identifying, interpreting and applying specific knowledge to practice, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and recognise and make students aware of their strengths and development needs. Creative, innovative and imaginative, you should be self-confident and display energy and enthusiasm within the learning environment.

The ability to speak fluent Welsh is highly desirable.

A DBS Disclosure will be requested from the successful applicant being offered the position and you will also be required to register with the Education Workforce Council.
