Project Engineer / USK/ Initial 6 Month Contract/ GBP24.73LTD Per Hour

My client is a well respected defence organisation who is currently experiencing an ongoing period of growth and success. Due to an ever increasing workload, they are currently looking to recruit a Project Engineer to join their dedicated team of professionals to be based out of the impressive operations in Usk, Monmouthshire. This is an initial 6 month contract and is paying a rate of GBP24.73LTD Per hour. Please find the role description below:

This role will provide a number of development opportunities to an individual exhibiting the requisite skills and capability. A robust development plan will be established to ensure the individuals transitions successfully into the role. The role will report into the lead engineer.

Additional Information
Responsibilities include the following:
Assisting product design and system engineering activities, for new and legacy products.
Configuration and maintenance of Engineering bills of materials for products
Product design and evaluation / downselection. (Pugh, DFMEA, FTA).
Process design, definition and critical evaluation techniques (PCP, PFMEA).
Coordination of theoretical simulation (thermal, structural, CFD analysis).
Coordination of product and process empirical test and evaluation.
Life Cycle Management (contributing towards design reviews) from concept to disposal.
Working as part of an integrated project team, including regular engagement with project management, procurement (supply chain), and operations.

Qualification, competencies, and skills include the following:
Degree or BTEC (HNC) in a technically-based discipline (mechanical or chemical).
Knowledge of Munition design is preferable, but is not essential.
Experience in Product design and/or test and evaluation
Experience in Process design and/or optimisation.
Strong IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
Ability to work in a team and to work independently when required.
Experience of product design analysis techniques e.g. (Pugh, FTA, DFMEA),
Experience of process design analysis techniques e.g. (PFMEA),
Capable of producing high quality technical reports.
Understanding of statistical analysis is desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with all areas of the organisation, e.g. those from a technical / non-technical and those from an assurance / delivery background.
