Sitting within the real estate practice group, our international real estate finance team comprises of almost 50 lawyers. The team is a dedicated practice area of the firm and is supported by a leading banking team and a leading UK and international real estate practice. Our team has extensive experience in advising on a range of domestic and international real estate finance transactions, in all sectors of the market including investment, development, whole loan, mezzanine, shariah and other structured financing. The firm is also very active advising sellers and purchases on distressed debt portfolio acquisitions. Our international expertise allows us to advise on financings in Europe, the middle east, the far east and other regions.

Key responsibilities:

You will primarily be responsible for assisting supervising lawyers with the smooth running of Real Estate finance transactions, including (but not limited to) reviewing and reporting on title, raising client/third party enquiries and collating responses, preparation of title packs and coordinating conditions precedent to completion of finance transactions. You will also be required to undertake post-completion work by preparing and reviewing Land Registry forms, making applications to the Land Registry and ensuring careful monitoring of registration deadlines. You will be expected to identify non-standard legal issues and to refer these to the supervising lawyer in a timely manner.

You may also be required to research points of law, act on some freehold / leasehold disposals under supervision, and assist the wider Real Estate team by assisting in the preparation of standard form leases and licenses, lease reports and undertaking completions to include preparation of completion statements and assisting in major investment transactions.

Skills and experience:

We would like to meet with candidates who have been able to acquire legal experience either through working in a conveyancing, real estate or real estate finance environment or through completion of the LPC course, having taken the Commercial Property elective.

•You will also need to be extremely well organised, with a proven ability to meet crucial deadlines.
