So, what will the role of Programme Manager entail?

Reporting to the Head of Programmes, you will work within the Advanced Optronics department. As the Programme Manager you’ll be responsible for the entire lifecycle of multiple projects, from initial bid through to production readiness. Duties will include:

  • Managing multiple projects for new products, ensuring that the agreed deliverables are provided
  • Ensuring that projects are delivered on time and to cost
  • Utilising understanding of the business and market to ensure that projects meet the current and future needs of customers
  • Working autonomously within the wider business areas to support all aspects of product development projects.

What will I need to be considered for this Programme Manager vacancy?

You will either be an experienced Programme Manager with a proven track record of achieving successful programme results, or a graduate trainee with an aptitude for programme management, as well as enthusiasm and willingness to learn. In addition, you will have;

  • Superb communication skills and the ability to forge strong working relationships across the business
  • Excellent level of IT literacy with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • A professional attitude, with the ability to work responsively and proactively
  • High level of attention to detail

If you’re a graduate, a science or engineering background would be advantageous, although not essential.

Experienced Programme Managers would ideally have, although not essential; bid and programme management experience, an awareness of AS9100, exposure to Prince II, or other project management methodology, and ideally gained within an engineering or manufacturing process environment.

Salary: £27,100 - £39,072, level dependent on experience

Standard Benefits: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, free car parking, stakeholder pension scheme (with company contribution) includes Life Assurance at x4 salary, learning and development opportunities, bonus plan (profit share), and childcare voucher scheme.

Hours of Work: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexibility will be required to meet business needs
