Our client is seeking an IT Developer to work within their UK IT Development Team to support IT development projects.
The company is a leading manufacturer of domestic appliances, is seeking an IT Developer to join their team. Reporting to the IT Director, the role holder will work within the UK IT Development Team to support IT development projects. The role is based at Merthyr in South Wales, however the Group is present in a number of countries and a number of projects require liaison with the Group IT Team in Italy and business users across the world.
The Group is going through a major change in business applications; implementing a number of best of breed systems that will be interfaced into their current IT infrastructure.

Requirements:
Oracle RDBMS 11 G
Database design
Form and report development
PL/SQL development
UNIX
Scripting
General knowledge
Knowledge of B2B messaging experience e.g. EDI, XML, Web Services would be advantageous.

The candidate is expected to:

Work with IT Director, Development Managers and Business Process Advisors to determine business requirements, project objectives and the development of technical and functional specifications for projects.
Assist in determining time and cost estimates for assigned projects.
Develop new applications or make enhancements according to project needs.
Utilise programming principles, tools and techniques to write application codes.
Plan, coordinate and execute project activities to ensure timely completion.
Ensure project deliverables meet business requirements.
Prepare test cases and strategies for unit testing and integration testing.
Perform code reviews to identify basic technical and logical errors.
Resolve application development issues in a timely manner.
Manage project risks and milestones.
Adhere to company policies and regulatory standards.
