PRU Teaching Assistant
We are currently recruiting for a Conwy-based PRU who require bank staff to help cover their full-time staff during periods of absence.
The PRU caters to the needs of up to twenty-six 7-11 year old pupils from across the county, with the aim of reintroducing them to mainstream education as they approach secondary school age. Pupils will generally display challenging behaviour associated with autism, attachment disorder, ADHD and PDA – this can include both verbal and physical outbursts on a daily basis.
We are seeking individuals who have experience of challenging behaviour both inside and outside of the classroom, with mainstream curriculum knowledge coming second to hands-on experience of working with demanding SEN pupils or children from more difficult social backgrounds. Experience of Timian training or similar would be a great advantage, although ongoing support and training will be provided. Candidates will be required to work independently with smaller groups, supporting them with their work and encouraging socialisation and the development of life skills.
As this is bank work, hours are not guaranteed, however as a supplier of staff to over 100 schools across North Wales we are able to offer regular, full-time employment across a variety of settings, subject to suitability and experience.
For an informal chat about work the role, please contact Adam on 01978 280123
