Area Manager - South Wales

£15,118 to £17,066 per annum | 21 hours per week

We are looking for a dynamic, professional and experienced manager to join our South and West Wales services management team, with a good working knowledge of the health, social care and voluntary sectors.

The successful candidate will motivate, lead and manage a team of staff, ensuring we are delivering high quality services specifically designed to meet the needs of people affected by strokes, their carers and families. You will work closely with the Head of Life After Stroke Services and the services management team, to develop our service footprint across the Cardiff and Vale UHB and Abertawe Bro Morgannwg UHB areas.

You will play an important role in the maintenance and delivery of high quality services across the locality, whilst ensuring staff and volunteers are supported at all times. As a key part of the role you will contribute and manage information that will inform our work, whilst engaging with local stakeholders to support the development of the stroke community.

With a proactive approach, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to get the best from the staff you are supporting. You will have excellent IT skills and a strong understanding of how to use data captured to improve quality. Travel to meetings around Wales, the UK and occasional overnight stays are a requirement of this post.

The successful applicant will be based in the National Office for Wales, Cardiff.

The Stroke Association is the leading UK stroke charity. We have been leading the fight against stroke for over 20 years. We influence and campaign to improve stroke care and support people to make the best possible recovery.

This is a very exciting time for our charity and we hope you will join us on our journey. We believe in a world where there are fewer strokes and all those touched by stroke get the help they need.

We fund world-class research to develop new treatments and ways to prevent the devastation of stroke. Breakthroughs in treatment have halved the number of people dying from stroke in the UK but it is still the second biggest killer in the world. That is why we are involved in projects across the globe.

Join us and together we can conquer stroke.
