Supply Chain Commodity Manager (Global Role)

Salary: GBPNegotiable Dependant on experience + Bonus + Package

Location: Mid-Wales (Relocation support offered)

Reports to: Procurement Director

What you will be doing

Working for a top 5 automation business your role will be to to develop, maintain and execute a commodity based sourcing strategy with a specific focus on Plastics, Die Castings, Stampings and associated tooling


* Develop, maintain, communicate and execute a robust commodity based supply chain strategy for the business. Initial focus and priority will be the head office, although the responsibility of the role extends globally.
* To contribute to the profitability of the company through material cost containment and extended credit terms, whilst driving key procurement strategies such as migrating to a preferred supplier list and migrating spend to best cost countries.
* Calculating the total cost of acquisition and to develop sourcing strategies together with the logistics specialists.
* Supporting the New Product Sourcing Managers with new supplier selections to ensure that future products also meet the needs of the business.

What experience I am looking for & the key elements of the role:

* Develop, maintain, communicate and execute a robust and global commodity strategy.
* Close co-operation with other commodity teams
* Ensure Perfect Execution is embedded into Commodity Strategies
* Support NPSM and NPSS with new supplier selection.
* Facilitate effective communication between R&D, Procurement and Purchasing
* Increase reverse auction penetration to 25% whilst maximizing PIE metric.
* Co-ordinate and implement reverse auctions.
* Rolling review of RA opportunities.
* Ensure Perfect Execution requirements are included in bid terms
* Understanding of MIN inventory reports
* Identify inventory improvement opportunities.
* Facilitate MIN data integrity.
* Maintain IM requirements to facilitate Group reporting
* Identify and minimise any risks in the supply chain and inform Senior Management of the risks being taken.
* Develop, maintain and execute a robust containment / PV plan for U79.
* Rolling review of future containment opportunities
* Provide data required by Senior Management e.g. Monthly PV forecast for POR.
