This life sciences company develops natural bioactive compounds into novel antimicrobial solutions to human and animal health-related problems and takes these solutions to the market where they can be used.

Their aim is to use their culture of creativity and diversity to contribute to improving the lives, health and wellbeing of those patients and customers who have life-limiting rare diseases or for whom effective treatments for their medical conditions are not currently available.

Their people consist of highly trained individuals with backgrounds in analytical chemistry, separation science, medicinal biology, microbiology, protein chemistry, drug development, agriculture, engineering and business, who intuitively think creatively.

Responsibilities:
- Undertake research and development projects in animal health - with specific focus on ruminant health and wellbeing.
- Draft trial protocols including evaluation and selection of appropriate methodologies and endpoints
- To assist in product development.
- To assist in the production and shipping / logistics of product(s) relevant to trials when necessary.
- To support selection and order items (such as measuring devices, sample collection kits etc.) needed for R&D Projects.
- To coordinate setup, calibration and maintenance of on-site measuring & monitoring devices.
- To act as a point of contact and liaise with external and internal collaborators and stakeholders
- Writing technical reports, compile presentations and draft articles for peer review;
- Maintaining appropriate records;
- Initiating and generating ideas based on reading and research.
- To liaise with universities and academic institutions.
- Generate Project Briefs for internal stakeholders and for management decisions
- Generate project Briefs and budgets for funding applications

Requirements:

Essential Requirements:
- This role would suit a Graduate/HND in the field of veterinarian sciences, biology or similar, with knowledge and practical experience of agronomic practices, preferably with exposure to ruminant livestock management.
- Beyond the graduation, practical experience of >3 years in research in either an industrial or academic environment in related fields is desired.

Desirable:
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Diagnostic and problem solving skills - demonstrate innovation and problem solving capabilities, whilst being practical and realistic/objective.
- Administration and computer skills
- Report writing and presentation skills
- Be able to communicate at all levels of the organisation and with external stakeholders and collaborators
- Have experience of R&D project management methods and tools.
