Chapter is looking for an experienced Director of Finance to take a leading role in the management of its finances, assets and staffing
Responsible for the delivery of effective, strategic and responsive financial services to the charity, assisting the Chief Executive in the management, control and planning of finances, assets and staffing. The successful candidate will be able to contribute new and creative financing ideas to the organisation and its trading operation - as public funding reduces, we increasingly need commercial financing expertise.
Main duties include management of a small finance team; production of monthly management accounts; preparation of annual budgets and forecasts; responsibility for audit; assisting with business plans and funding applications; ensuring financial procedures and information systems are effective, and that statutory responsibilities are carried out; devising appropriate strategies for debt management, cashflow, borrowing, etc.
Chapter has been a meeting place for people and for ideas since 1971. More than 40 years later it is regarded as one of the most successful multi-disciplinary arts organisations in the UK and a major centre for the contemporary arts in Europe. Two theatres, two cinema screens, a gallery, workspaces for artists, meeting rooms for the community and business and a busy cafe bar are housed in its premises, a 1905 school building refurbished in an award-winning conversion in 2009.
