Sector Lead in Children’s Social Care
There has been a clear commitment made by Welsh Government that all children in care should have the same life chances as those for other children.
There is recognition that effective and targeted action is required to help improve outcomes and life chances for looked after children in Wales.
We are looking to appoint a Sector Lead in Children’s Social Care. The successful candidate will be:
an experienced residential child care manager, senior social worker or team manager.
experienced in working with children and families, and children and young people who are looked after or in need.
familiar with national legislation, policy and priorities.
As Sector Lead you will ensure our work is driven by work-based practice and knowledge. In particular this role will involve:
delivering the workforce plan for residential childcare
developing the plan for looked after children, who are an improvement priority for Social Care Wales.
You will work closely with sector and partner organisations.
This is an exciting time to join us. In April 2017 we will become Social Care Wales and be the key leadership organisation for social care.
We welcome secondments from other organisations. This would be on a two to five day a week basis for six months initially.
